Fancy high heels that are so uncomfortable to walk in, you only wear them on a date where you walk from the car to the table and back.

car to bar shoes

Shoes which look great in the shops but walking around in can be painful. Therefore they are good only for going from a car (ie Taxi) directly to the bar, hence "car to bar" Having to walk around from the subway or so is murder.

Those stilettos are great, but they are strictly car to bar shoes.
