loss of night vision by using an elecronic device with a backlight in an otherwise dark area

I was listening to my iPod last night, but it gave me a serious case of backlight blindness.

blacklight blindness 

the image portrayed after a blacklight is turned on, blindness appears from a subjects mouth. Normal humans must wear protective attire to prevent the occurance of blindness.

" OMFG get the welding hood! Kara turned on the blacklight!" This is blacklight blindness.
