WiFive or Wi-Five or WiFi’ve is a Virtual/Contactless ‘Hi-Five’ i.e. where two or more people that wish to ‘Hi-Five’ their group are not close enough to make physical contact with their raised hand. Instead the initiator of the Wi-Five will raise and hold one hand (in the same manner as a normal Hi-Five), make eye contact with their intended group and while going through the motion of a regular Hi-Five, i.e. slapping the air in the direction of the other participant/s, simultaneously call out “Wi-Five” to the group collectively or individually.
The receiver/s of the Wi-Five would then reply “Wi-Five” in the same way, both physically with raised hand, eye contact, air slapping hand motion and verbally, (often matching the tone and energy of the “Wi-Five” received) back to the initiator and often, though optional, this is repeated to others within the group.
The WiFive is perfect in large rooms but can be extended greatly with the limitation really being that of being able to see and or hear the intended participants. The WiFive has seen a recent increase in popularity due to the global COVID-19 pandemic as it both supports and promotes social distancing and contactless encounters.

The after game reception was unusually busy, however the team celebrated their win with an enthusiastic ‘WiFive’ from across the room.

A combination of WiFi, the popular wireless technology, and a high five, a celebratory gesture made between two people.
WiFi's are made when the two people performing are too far away to physically connect a high five and instead perform the motions of one without actually touching.
The instigator should announce 'WiFive!' before acting it out so as to not cause confusion.
WiFi's may or may not be accompanied by a 'whoopish' noise in order to make the gesture more realistic.
If your really nerdy and someone fails to realise the WiFive or tries to reach for a real high five and fails then they may be taunted by everyone around them making the old 56Kb dial up noise really loud in their face.

I went to give Pubert a WiFive yesterday over the Grand Canyon but he thought I said high five and tried to reach over. Needless to say he fell down the 1.6 km drop and I went...

a nerdy way of saying "air five"
which is the true definition of a high five done when two people are too far apart to physically engage in a "high five"

Short for Wireless High-Five, used when you want to give a friend a high-five, but you are further then arms reach from each other. It doesn't involve any physical contact.
