1. noun. Danish Film director. Known for his controversial filmography, such as Antichrist and Nymphomaniac, as well as co-founding the Dogma 95 movement with fellow Danish Director Thomas Vinterberg.

2. verb. When a joke backfires because of the terrible delivery. Originated from Trier's infamous "I'm a Nazi" speech at Cannes 2011.
