Vidalling

A person who is bad at their job and uses excuses to cover up their inadequacy. This person will also tend to use social media or other forms of social recognition to gloat about any small accomplishment they make regardless of how trivial.

Workplace Environment Scenario:

Employee 1: Damn its so hot in the kitchen, I need another smoke break. Before I head out let's take a photo and tag our store to show how the boys get shit done in the kitchen.

Employee 2: Brah, I'm not your boy. Quit vidalling over there and get back to work. No one gives a shit about the photo. You signed up to work in a kitchen -- its always hot. This is this the 3rd time today I needed to pick up your slack.

Vidalling

The act of drawing attention to yourself in order to detract people away from your own personal limitations or personal performance issues.

NOTE: Vidalling is easily spotted on online chat rooms such as Discord, Groupme, Slack, etc,. The person that is vidalling is usually a low performer on any given team, yet will talk as if they are god's gift to the organization. Other words to describe a Vidaller include, shmuck, idiot, or plonker.

Context: Group of delivery drivers messaging on a shared team chat room.

Vidal: Hey Guys! Check out this picture of me working so hard in this heat. Be sure to stay hydrated! We are the best!

John: Dude, you are 30 stops behind on your delivery route. Quit being in the chat and get back to work!
Steve: Quit Vidalling and get to delivering. I'm tired of rescuing your route at the end of my long shift.
