(noun)
The British slang diminutive for a person's digital search or browser history. Typically uttered with a sense of dread or guilt right before handing someone your phone or laptop.
Follows the classic UK linguistic tradition of aggressively shortening serious, multi-syllable terms into cutesy diminutives (see also: cozzie livs, platty joobs, holibobs).
Example 1:
“Mate, grab my phone off the table to check the directions—just promise you won’t look at the histy, I was down a weird 3 AM rabbit hole about Victorian plumbing.”
Example 2:
“Rule number one of borrowing someone’s laptop: clear the histy immediately, do not perceive their 2023 symptom searches.”

no one has ever done this in the history of dota

"No one has ever done this in the history of dota" was a particularly spicy meme from back when DOTA was relevant. Said by an official commentator of a DOTA championship after witnessing a particularly impressive play by one of the participants.

Generally used as a sarcastic meme if used at all, or used in montages of games which are not DOTA, for the meme potential.

"No one has ever done this in the history of dota" is one of the more difficult memes to pull off as it isn't as well known as many other memes. Main audience is gamers and montage watchers.

the history of middle-earth

The History of Middle-earth (commonly referred to as HoME) is, like the better known Silmarillion, a compilation of the work of J.R.R. Tolkien put together and published by his son Christopher after his death. If your thought the Lord of the Rings was a brick you ain't seen nothing yet – HoME is comprised of twelve volumes of coffee table adorning glory (not including the index which gets its own book).

HoME is comprised of older versions of stories found elsewhere and material that didn't make it into the Lord of the Rings or the Silmarillion.

Met by cries “but this contradicts the canon!” HoME is frequently perused by hardcore Tolkien fans trying to figure out just how biased the imaginary in-universe authors of the texts really are and who the hell Tom Bombadil is anyway.
In addition to being an interesting read The History of Middle-earth can also be used to press laundry and kill cockroaches.

murderhobo

In a tabletop game, a murderhobo is a player who murders NPCs indiscriminately. This is normally derogatory, referring to a player who totally ignores quests, dialog, backstory, trade, world building etc.

The term is most common with Dungeons and Dragons, but it can be applied to most RPGs where the player is allowed to kill most quest-giving NPCs and NPC traders. E.g. Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Divinity original sin.

In sales terms, a whale is a prospect that is significantly larger than an organization’s average customer.

Whales are large and extremely difficult to close. Due to their immense size, they are highly sought-after.

A whale is typically identified at first by a whale hunter on the sales team, but often requires cross-discipline participation in order to close; this includes assistance from operations, engineering, creative, client success, and business development teams.
"Shit...the sales director chewed me out on the sales call this morning. He's totally pissed that I have nothing in my pipeline. I've been focused on this one whale for so long that I haven't had time to prospect for normal-sized deals."

city chicken

A food native to Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania in which cubes of pork and/or veal are put on a short, wooden skewer, breaded, then baked and/or fried.

I've heard that city chicken originated during the Great Depression, when folks didn't have enough money to buy full cuts of meat, so they assembled meat scraps on a wooden skewer, creating a make-shift drumstick. Hence the name.
