Joe and Sara becamse friends during high school. Their attachment deepend when Sara gifted Joe her friend's dog keychain that her friend Ryoko got.

Sara introduced Ryoko to Joe and the three became amazing friends. After some time Ryoko and Joe went on a date together.

The night following the date, Joe heads back to the school to walk Sara home. Supposedly to just brag about the date, but in actuality he was aware Sara ws anxious about her stalker.

They both go towards Saras home, find ger mother collapsed on the floor and then get kidnapped and put in a killing game.
