A lower functioning state that a person goes into when they are
sick. The state of being ill and feeling awful. It'
s the opposite of being in the zone. Coughing, sneezing, headache, running nose, stuffiness, or just generally feeling like grim
death can constitute being in
Sick Mode. Family, friends, and co-workers are expected to be understanding and give the person in Sick Mode a break because at some point everybody has been in Sick Mode.
John: I'm can't come to
work today. I'm in
Sick Mode.
Boss: Alright, feel better.
Kate: Honey, can you take care of the kids today. I'm in Sick Mode.
Jack: Okay. Just stay in bed and rest up. I've got this.
