Committing an act of epic trollery that ends up backfiring onto yourself. Could also be used to describe unintentional self-sabotage.

When a user of the Internet gets caught by their own misuse of the Internet.

I.e when a user searches for the definition of a word that is unknowingly spelt incorrectly, only to find it on a site that they themselves have listed it on as a stupid way of spelling said word.

"Tom was a self harming troll when he looked up 'urben dictionary', only to find he was the one that had earlier defined it as a stupid person's way of spelling 'urban dictionary''.

Its amusing to watch the self-trollerisation of Lejuge the Norwich fan on QPRdot.org messageboard claiming to be a troll yet winding himself up by his postings more than the community he is trying to get to bite.

Pronounced: Selphtrole

Selftrolls are people on forum message boards who are regular "Trolls" but with a twist. Trolls do not like to be trolled, therefore they will "troll" their own post and make any nasty comments on their own post before any others have a chance. Thus being a selftroll.
