Scanting

The act of deliberately taking little to no responsibility, to the point of being totally absent from places of importance. ie. Jobs at hand or family functions. This includes purposely avoiding any form labor or simply helping another person out with a simple task. At times their absence can be described as “being in Scantasia”

Because Dave was out Scanting this morning, i had to go get material for the job after he had to me he would pick it up himself.

thesis scatting 

When one attempts to write their thesis, but can't make a thoughtful statement if their life depended on it and all that comes out is something that has the cadence of something thoughtful but lacks any substance or direction.

I read her paper and she must have been thesis scatting, I can't understand anything she wrote.

Scatting 

The non-shit-eating form

Scatting is an old jazz term used to describe a jazz singer saying/singing random words and phrases of nonsensical words. Recent Scatting: Scatman John (R.I.P) and his song collection.

Often includes the words Skap, dap, dee, doo, do, bop, boop, swee, wee, wap, wop, skee, bap etc. and most words are intercepted by an "a"

Scott: Hey i'm gonna listen to some Scat
Danny: Ew, sounds gross
Scat: Skap-a-dap-a-diddily-bap
Scott: Ohhh yeahhhhh, that's scatting for you
Danny: lolz
Scat: Ski-ba-doo-doodily-bap-swee-do-dee-bop!
