One of the best people you will ever meet. She can be quiet but when you become friends with her she suddenly starts to talk a lot. She has a very calm personality and is a caring and nice person. She is also a huge food lover. You can easily trust her and have long conversations with her daily and she will always be there to talk to you. Her smile will make your day and she cheers up the people around her. She is really shy when it comes to taking to new people but she soon gets used to them and makes friends with them eventually. Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
