Insult for the inanimate, which it not even good enough to be equated with a whole shit - rather, the bday-era bumdregs washed from soiled cracks.

A: "What did you think of my book?"
B: "It was utter shitewash."

Spitewashing

Taking a highly regarded intellectual property and changing it for the worse. This usually occurs because the author hates the general fan base of said property and/or to generate buzz for their own lackluster ideas.

You can tell this show suffers from spitewashing because of the terrible writing and the disdain you can feel for the property coming from the writers.
