Rainboating

Rainboating (n.): The act of accusing someone of gaslighting when they are actually just correcting your factual errors, misconceptions, or ignorance with evidence or clearer context.
Person A: “The Earth is flat, NASA is lying.”
Person B: “Here’s photos from space, basic physics, and 2,400 years of evidence.”
Person A: “Wow, you’re literally gaslighting me right now.”
→ Person A is rainboating.
Why “rainboating”?
It’s like they’re demanding you let them sail their leaky boat of bullshit through a storm of facts while screaming that your umbrella of evidence is somehow psychological abuse.
She kept insisting the movie came out in 2018, and when I showed her the 2015 trailer on YouTube she yelled, “Why are you gaslighting me?!” Classic rainboating.
