Pull an Albo

Pull an Albo
(verb phrase)

To confidently promise something with the energy of a man who absolutely, 100%, no-questions-asked, will not be doing that thing. Ever.

Definition:

To make a solemn, public commitment — often to a large audience — with zero intention (or ability) of following through. The promise may be delivered with passion, sincerity, and even a slight working-class accent for authenticity.

Related terms:

Albo'd (past tense) — "We got absolutely Albo'd on that electricity bill promise."

Going full Albo — escalating a lie by doubling down when caught

The Albo Special — a promise made specifically during an election that evaporates the moment voting closes

Etymology:

Derived from Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, whose campaign promises aged about as well as a meat pie left in a hot car.
"He told me he'd have the report done by Friday. Total Albo. Saw him at the pub Thursday night."

"The tradie pulled a full Albo — quoted me $800, showed up once, and I never heard from him again."

"She pulled an Albo on date night. Said she'd be ready at 7, rolled out at 9, and somehow acted like nothing happened."

"He didn't just lie. He pulled a proper Albo — looked you dead in the eyes and everything."

"Don't pull an Albo on me mate — you promised you'd help me move on Saturday."

"He pulled an Albo at work — swore he'd finished the project, hadn't even started."

"Classic Albo move — pulled an Albo on his own farewell party and didn't even show up."

I mean I guess bro

a word of expression to when you give up on comprehending someone's words of ignorance, stupidity, absurdity or are too exhausted to formulate a proper response.

Commonly seen in TikTok comment sections in replies to lazy attempts at humor, overconfidentally incorrect statement, or an over-the-top comment or when someone completely misses the mark on something.
"actually... incorrect statement, hope this helps!"

abandonware

n. software that is no longer sold or supported by the original publisher / developer, often found as free downloads on the internet because it cannot be obtained elsewhere. Not legal, but often seen as morally acceptable because the company that made it is no longer selling the title, nor releasing it as freeware, therefore abandonware is "keeping the game alive", so to speak.
Doom II is not abandonware because id still sells it, while The Incredible Machine is not sold, therefore is abandonware.

Foot prisons

Socks. Annoying, sweat-causing, non-barefoot enducing, everyday socks.
The first thing I do when I take off my shoes, is rip off the foot prisons I had to wear inside them. That's why I prefer flip flops, even in winter!

Ruler of Lake Titicaca. Rumored to have a bunghole that gets very angry if it does not receive toilet paper. Cornholio the Great is often seen walking around with his shirt over his head and his hands in the air, chanting songs about his power, and his bunghole.
"I am Cornholio! You do not want to face the wrath of my bunghole, for I need TP!"
Butthead: Shut up, Beavis! (uh huh huh huh)
Beavis: Um, okay. (heh heh heh heh).
