Pitchforked Child
The child who, by circumstance, birth order, or deliberate parental manipulation, is forced to remain at home and anchored to their parent or parents. This occurs when parents have age issues and require care or experience severe empty nest syndrome and cannot handle isolation or loss of control.
This is typically an issue in a community that is un-affordable. The parent(s) systematically sabotage their independence—such as giving money and property to other siblings while completely cutting off the remaining child. The child is effectively blindsided ("pitchforked") into putting their entire life on hold to serve the emotional or physical needs of elderly parent(s).
The term draws from the classic painting American Gothic, where a stern daughter stands trapped beside her father who holds a pitchfork.

I was pitchforked because my mother gave me nothing for independence while my siblings received money, vehicles and property. She even persuading my father to do the same just to hinder my independence.
Example 2:
"Sarah's brothers both moved across the country to start careers, leaving her as the pitchforked child who has to manage their dad's dementia and doctors' appointments all by herself."
