Norwegian Black Metal

A genre specific to bands that hail from Norway and play Black Metal. It is one of the most famous genres in the Metal subculture, mostly due to the crimes, multiple church arsons, murders, and violence that surrounds it.

Norwegian Black Metal bands include (but are not limited to)
Darkthrone, Mayhem, Immortal, Emperor, Gorgoroth, Burzum, and Enslaved.
If it wasn't for all of the (bored) crazy fucking Norwegians, Black Metal, particularly Norwegian Black Metal, would be nowhere but further underground.

true norwegian black metal

Greatest music ever created. Ultra cold metal with harsh production to create a truely demonic atmosphere!

Darkthrone's 'A blaze in the northern sky' is THE greatest album ever written

true norwegian black metal

The original form of Black Metal, famous for its satanic lyrical content as well as its lo-fi hardedge musical backing.

Black Metal its purist form. Used to reference bands such as Emperor, Mayhem, DarkThrone, Burzum, and more recently Gorgoroth and Immortal. Newer bands in the third wave of black metal do NOT qualify as True Norwegian Black Metal. (sorry Dimmu)
Dimmu Borgir kicks ass but is not true Norwegian black metal.

True Norwegian Black Metal = Immortal, Darkthrone, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Mayhem, Massemord, Sykdom, and I guess Dark Funeral even though they are from Sweden!
At the Heart of Winter is a great Black Metal album!!!

true norwegian black metal

Black Metal DID NOT originate in Norway! Norway definately re-defined Black Metal and made it into what it is today (and yes, made it better).

Burzum represents the end of the original wave of Norwegian Black Metal. Varg Vikernes style consisted of far too much ambience to be considered by most to be "true Norwegian Black Metal", but still to his fans he is the most true musician to date. For better or worse, its in the past. Living on today are still many great bands in the genre, and there isn't an end in sight.
True Norwegian Black Metal is very lo-fi and consists of mostly black and white photography to represent it. Very high consistency of satanic literature in the lyrics, and an "over excited rebelous teenager" attitude.

church hurt

church hurt is where you experience a degree of distance, pain, or judgement from your church community. Essentially, you are just unable to “find your place”. This is prevalent in the Christian community, but can be extended to other religions.
Now that I am an adult I am beginning to heal from the church hurt that was inflicted on me as a child.

Huge. Surpassing normal expectations.
I was fishing with a Spinner Bait and a HONKIN pike came after it and hit it . Felt like a lawnmower running over a brick.
