Noviophobia is derived from the Spanish word "Novio" (meaning boyfriend) and Greek word "Phobos" (meaning fear); This strange word was featured in an issue of Nintendo Power in a fan letter regarding the 2004 Nintendo DS game "Sprung", and it was also mentioned in the 2004 Sonichu newsletter "Sonichu's News Dash!".
To make a long story short, I developed a fear that all the pretty girls are already paired up with a boyfriend. I’ve dubbed this social phobia, Noviophobia, after the Spanish word for boyfriend.
