The process by which a regulated nervous system reaches for symbolic, mythological, and narrative content to build cognitive containers for experiences that have no scientific vocabulary yet. Not metaphor. Not decoration. Functional neural infrastructure constructed from story.
Person 1: In neuroscience and education, a neuromyth is a false belief about the brain dressed in scientific language.
Person 2: Exactly. They used the word neuromyth to describe the failure of that capacity. I’m saying: that capacity isn’t a bug. It’s the whole operating system. The nervous system reaches for structural resonance because structural resonance is the only available language for experience at the edge of what science has mapped yet. Calling that a failure is like calling a hammer a bad screwdriver.

Neuroatheism

Neuroatheism is a version of New Atheism that is based on neuroscience (Neuroscientism), that basically advocates everything about human relations, beliefs and interactions can be explained by neuroscience. Neuroatheism also uses neuroscience in order to promote atheism and protect atheism, usually attacking all non-atheists, religious, spirituals and believers in order to show their beliefs are wrong because of neuroscience and (neuro)psychology. Neuroatheism also advocates a radical version of nihilism, where basically everyone cannot believe in nothing, and must base all their beliefs and and knowledge on science, where no one can even imagine new things, everything must be based on science itself, mainly on neuroscience, and it advocates the use of neuroscience and psychiatry for oppress non-atheists and even considers movements such as MindFreedomism and Spiritual MindFreedomism as anti-scientific movements.
"Neuroatheism seeks to promote new atheism using neuroscience as basis for do so, neuroatheism is start getting so much influence in internet and it should be countered."

"It is hard to tell if neuroatheism will get hegemonic inside neoatheism... Anyway, we need to be careful and find ways to counter neuroatheism before it's too late."

Neurotheology

Neurotheology is a study of neuroscience and spirituality. It focuses on how spiritual experiences, revelations, and epiphanies affect our neurological system.

Although shamanism has been practicing this for thousands of years, shamanism is more focused on the spirituality aspect - healing and having these experiences, rather than doing actual neuroscientific studies to prove it's positivity, and capability to help many people.
"While the term neurotheology is new, the basic ideas have been around for thousands of years" says Dr. Michael Winkelman, Department of Anthropology, Arizona State University. "Many cultures have developed technologies for altering consciousness and inducing spiritual experiences." Winkelman describes shamanism- an ancient healing practice- within the context of neurotheology.

neurotherapy

defrauding clients

expensive bullshit
quack medicine imprecisely applying poorly constructed headgear of magnets to head to "train" the brain out of genetic flaws, psychological disorders, disease, or malady. To peruse a list of OUTRAGEOUS claims of "cures" by neurotherapy interweb browse to hxxp://neurotherapy.us or hxxp://eeginfo.com (with an interweb browser linkification extension one may double click non-hyperlinked munged URLs to load. For best interweb use free AdBlock extension in browser)

Can magnetic fields cure genetic defects, dysfunction, or disease? FUCK NO, but that's what proponents of neurotherapy would have you believe. Expect to pay several hundred dollars per session. Unsurprisingly many many sessions will be required. Similarly unsurprising: insurance companies do not cover fraudulent-science so you will be paying out of pocket.

If you could instantly think your way out of disease or will changes to your DNA medicine would be obsolescent quickly. OBVIOUSLY neurotherapy is fraud. Charging for neurotherapy is a heinous moral crime.

Any doctor offering it under his shingle risks losing his license, the privilege or practicing medicine. REPORT these trustfuckers to their state medical board if they sell this "medical" procedure in their office especially if the neurotherapist is not a doctor.

Neurothirst

Neurothirst (noun):

The intense desire for mental stimulation, usually satisfied by solving complex problems or learning new skills.
After spending hours engrossed in a challenging crossword puzzle, he felt a surge of neurothirst, an insatiable craving for intellectual engagement that could only be quenched by delving into even more complex problems or diving into a new skill to master.
