Nerbel is the combination of nerd and rebel. Since both groups can be considered outcast, nerbels are independent, smart, and oppose popularized media for underground entertainment. Term first used during a livestream of WOW.

I'm gonna be a nerbel tonight and play indie games instead of going to that party.
