An action pulled when correcting a friend with an obscure sports fact you know because you did the research or have the answer, have the knowledge, or just know your shit.

Random Guy: Emmitt Smith won the MVP in the '92 Superbowl.

Smart Guy: Wrong, the Cowboy's won the Super Bowl in 1992, but it was Troy Aikman who was named MVP.
