mentrification 

The process by which fields gradually becoming dominated by men gain in perceived value, to the point where it's often forgotten that they were originally dominated by women (e.g. computers, Star Trek fandom); and by which fields gradually becoming dominated by women lose perceived value, to the point where it's often forgotten that they were originally dominated by men (e.g. nursing, secretarial work).

A play on the word "gentrification."

Nursing has suffered some serious mentrification for people to forget that it used to be mostly men!

mentrification 

When something once known as something made by or popular with women is suddenly taken over by men and essentially becomes something that women can't be interested in/partake in anymore. Then said thing will be vigorously protected by gatekeepers who will try and keep women out of it and will shun women still in the community. This can work in reverse with women also, which can be called Womanification.

Woman 1: Remember when Star Trek was something you and I would talk about in our living rooms over tea before all of this convention stuff came around?

Woman 2: I remember that quite clearly, now I can't even mention I like the show around other fans. Otherwise they'll bombard me with questions like "Who was the very first captions' mother's name????" rudely and expect me not to answer, and when I do they just insult me and call me a 'fake fan' anyways!

Woman 1: Damn, the Mentrification of Star Trek really hit hard huh?

When something is so meta that its terrific and you feel fond feelings of cognitive dissonance knocking on your skull, in which of course, you eagerly welcome them because you love a good mental disturbance.

The Urban Dictionary definition for Urban Dictionary is metarific.

A word that combines mega awesome and super terrific, and which can be used to describe a super awesome and terrific friend, but when used to describe things can be a little lame.

Your friend, from what I hear, seems megarific. I wonder when I’ll meet her.

Mentorification

The process of being well-mentored by expert mentors with the end goal of mentors producing properly equipped protégés, students, or followers.

"The Executive Director was undergoing the mentorification of the CEO"; or, "The Leadership Dean was please with the mentorification of her PhD candidates at the hands of Leadership Department faculty."
