luton town

Ok, I am gonna give you the real Luton Town, the good and the bad from someone who has lived there all his life. So listen up and listen good.

It has come to my attention that someone who goes by the name of garth believes that it is funny, cool or whatever to diss a town that he knows nothing about and the people who live there. Unfortunately this "garth" is about as educated as the monkeys and other animals that reside in Whipsnade Zoo or woodside wild animal farm. This is not good because this means that he believes that he is qualified to diss another town just because he has no friends apart from the one that resides in his head. Ok, now onto Luton.

Luton is a town with approximately 200,000 people living there and yes it has more than it's fair share of the old riff-raff, but there are also some quite successful peopel and businesses there. It is known as the 21st worse town to live in in the UK and yes it is the 5th most unsafe as well but that doesn't make everyone bad.

I don't know who is talking about people from Luton being uneducated because over 75% of people get 5 A*-C in some schools, that may not seem too high but it is a lot higher than some places other places in the UK. Unfortunately this town is brought down a bit by a few people but all in all this is our home and this is where we live, we can't help being Lutonian jsut like you can't help being what ever you are, it's just where we live. Get over it.

So I ask you to stop and think before you sit at that computer and point your finger at Luton or any other towns for being crap. Sure there are ghettos but just don't go there.
People from Luton Town can be educated and can be nice if you are nice to them.

Shackteâu

A Shackteau is a humble, weather-beaten, structurally questionable shelter located in a spectacular or highly coveted place—Wales, Jackson Hole, Sun Valley, Crested Butte, coastal Maine, the Alps—where the building itself may be worth almost nothing, but the dirt, view, access, and mythology make it absurdly valuable.
In use:
Shackteâu - We thought it was an abandoned shed until the realtor called it a rare alpine Shackteâu with unobstructed views and listed it for $2 million.

Fogey/fogy /fougi/ sl. (early 18C+, orig. Scot) old-fashioned, stuck-in-the mud.
Person with old fashioned ideas which he is unwilling to change: Come to the disco and stop being such an old fogey!
You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)
