Lake Worth, Florida

Though Lake Worth, FL has a bad reputation for violence and gang activity, this town has got to be one of the most haunted and picturesque towns in the state, if not in the country. Lake Worth is located 45 minutes north of Ft. Lauderdale and it makes part of the Miami-Ft Lauderdale-Palm Beach metropolitan area. Its downtown is really hippie, eclectic, laid back, and enjoyable, Though there is a fair share of street walkers, panhandlers and hobos, Lake Worth has a lot to offer as far as culture. Just make sure to stay no more than a few blocks away from Lake Avenue, if planning on relocating, North of the avenue is where you want to be. All the guats, rejects, gansters and thugs are on the south side of town. If you are into art and theatre this is one of the places to be, they hold the Night On the Avenue every third friday of the month, where lots of local artists come to showcase their work. Yearly one of the biggest street painting festivals takes place here, you will also find a bunch of PBR drinking hipsters, with their rimmed glassed and tatts. Just make sure you stay away from Lake Worth Beach, it is Hella Ghetto, its better to go to Phipps park, located just about a half mile north of Lake Worth Beach. If you are into the paranormal this would also be a good place to explore. lots of old houses, and the Lake Worth Playhouse, which its hauntings have been recorded over time and its still visited by paranormal investigators. Also Very gay friendly!

Lake Worth, Florida

A Podunk City in Palm Beach County, Florida, that is famously known as "The Home of the Newlywed and Nearly Dead", due to low rent crackerbox housing on 15-foot wide properties throughout the downtown area, and lettered and numbered streets. The Podunk Municipal Electric Company has an average of 700 power outages every year. A College Dropout, Inventory Stocking Clerk at Target is a City Commissioner, and
Lake Worth, Florida is as Podunk a town as you get.

Welcome to Lake Worth, please set your watches back Fifty Years.

flophouse

Any house/apartment/frat house/trailer/etc. which is used for individuals to crash (sleep, chill, hang out, lurk, etc.) for a period of time. In order to "crash", one must not actually live there (e.g. have their name on the lease, own said flophouse, etc.). Flophouses are typically used by college students, drug addicts, transients, vagrants, or other unsavory characters.

A flophouse may also be the home owned by the parents of a college student, who after being away at college, wishes to live as if he/she is still at college (e.g. staying out all night, returning just to crash at mom and dad's house, then leaving again), rather than conforming to the pre-college rules.
Example #1
Dude: (Talking to someone passed out face first on the floor of his college apartment) Hey man, who the hell are you? What do you think this is, a flophouse??

Bro: Sorry dude, I must have passed out for a minute.

Example #2
Mom: Where have you BEEN for the last three days? You come home just to sleep?? What do you think this is, a flophouse??!!

Son: What's your problem? I'm an adult now!

Hate Sink

A person you hate intensely not because they deserve such hatred but because they serve as a focus for your general hatred. A healthy way to dispense with excess animosity.
Jake's not really that big an asshole. He just serves as my hate sink.

A toe rag was originally a foot wrapping used, since mediaeval times up until the mid-nineteenth century, to protect the foot from chafing by boots or shoes. As these were, quite literally, rags they weren’t usually washed, and so with use they became very smelly until they were thrown away. Because of the similarity in smell, toe rag also became the name applied to dried, salted cod or other things with a strong, unpleasant, fishy smell. It didn’t take that long before the name was applied to someone who was an obnoxious, unpleasant OIC.
1 “Socks! Those aren’t socks you smelly git, they’re toe rags!”
2 “What have you been cooking? Smells like toe rag!”
3 “I can smell ‘er fanny from ‘ere, proper toe rag.”
4 That Heale Malcolm is a right toe rag.

Eternity leave

When some resigns or retires from a job, they are on "eternity leave". This can also refer to someone who has passed away, especially someone who worked somewhere for a long time, retired/resigned, then passed away later.
Oh I'm sorry, you didn't know that Kelly is on eternity leave? She resigned and moved to Hawaii!

With regrets I would like to inform you that my boss is officially on eternity leave. I will never see or hear them again. Ever.
