Holidupe

To make up an imaginary holiday to take the day off from work; or, claiming to be another religion to get the day off from work.

Yeah, we can golf on Wednesday afternoon. I holiduped my boss into thinking I needed the day off because it was Nation Day in Upper Volta and my family is from there.

I'm thinking of holiduping my boss so I can take all of Passover off and go to Florida.

To be on the receiving end of a relationship breakup just before a holiday one typically spends with loved ones, esp. Thanksgiving thru New Year's, Valentine's, or your birthday.

"What are you getting your girlfriend for Christmas this year?"
"Nothing. She holidumped me just before Thanksgiving."
