Used to describe something that is remotely interesting that involves internet culture, like a hyper-realistic picture of a corn on the cob swinging a golf club.
1: Thoughts on this pic?
2: Goeshard. May I save it?
1: Go on then
An image that “goes hard”, refers to an image that firstly looks like something you would only usually encounter on the internet or something that reflects on internet culture (memes, artistic content, etc.).
Secondly the image has to invoke either a sense of humour, (often sarcastic) bad-assery and/or coolness, sarcastic relatability, or a mix of the above.
These elements combined will result in the formation of an image that goes hard.
"Hey check out this image, it goes prettyhard right?" my friend said as he showed me the image on his phone. "That is in fact an image that goes hard man" I replied.
Precedes or follows either a gratuitously disrespectful or honest remark, originated in New York City. Used in similar fashion to "no offense" or "to be honest," interchangeably.
