Fompmaxxing
FOMPmaxxing is the active practice of making your life more Polish in order to reconnect with your roots and experience more of the culture you feel you missed while growing up abroad.
(Fomp = Fear of missing Poland)
It means deliberately bringing Polishness into your everyday life through the things you eat, listen to, watch, speak, learn, buy, celebrate, and do. This can include eating Polish food, listening to Polish music, watching Polish films and TV, speaking more Polish, following Polish media, learning about Polish history, celebrating traditions, visiting Poland more often, making Polish friends, supporting Polish culture, and eventually moving to Poland.
FOMPmaxxing is about turning Polish identity from something passive or inherited into something you actively live.

“I’ve been FOMPmaxxing all month — only listening to Polish music, cooking Polish food, speaking more Polish, and planning my next trip to Poland.”
