Face value

Taking something at face value means to not look any deeper into what is being said. If the listener tries to read into it, the wrong conclusion will be reached.

No ulterior motive. Just read/hear what is presented and do not read into it.
Take this at face value, but you look really hot today. Where did you get that shirt? (If the listener didn't take it at face value, he/she might wonder if the speaker is interested, romantically or otherwise)

Take this at face value, but you had mentioned the cost of getting a nose job yesterday and how much you wanted one. I saw the prices. They're really not as bad as you thought. (If the face value clause were not said, the listener might be offended. It could be construed the speaker is implying the listener should get a nose job because it looks bad or whatever)

face value

The value someting gains by being put up on or displayed on facebook. thus making it that much more "real". This can be varified by checking facebook or by a spot of facebooking. When checking the face value of something a person cannot be said to be a facebook stalker.
Also a person who makes a comment which has no face value may be humiliated, insulted and called a total loser very publically.
person 1: 'wow so Tom just told me he and Kate are dating now!"
person 2: 'Na i just checked their facebook pages and they both listed them as single, so clearly that statement has no face value"
Person 1: 'good bit of facebooking Tom is clearly such a loser

- 'Of course, I am Phil Collins.'

- 'That's a very funny joke. I love jokes about AIDS and women's rights.'
- 'Indeed, wouldn't you agree that it has incredible face value?'
- 'Of course.'

Take something at face value

To accept something exactly the way it appears to be.
Take something at face value: I don't know whether I can take her story at face value, but I will assume that she is not lying.

Dump at face value

The act of taking a dump in a public restroom and leaving the stall door open slightly. You do this in attempt to catch an unsuspecting person by surprise and see the shock on their face when they walk in on you blowing mudd. Don't confuse this with open faced dump.
Oh it was the greatest, I knew Trevor's brother would come in soon so I snuck in there and took a dump at face value. You should have seen his face! I don't know if it just seeing me there or the fumes, but he had tears in his eyes!

city chicken

A food native to Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania in which cubes of pork and/or veal are put on a short, wooden skewer, breaded, then baked and/or fried.

I've heard that city chicken originated during the Great Depression, when folks didn't have enough money to buy full cuts of meat, so they assembled meat scraps on a wooden skewer, creating a make-shift drumstick. Hence the name.

endwarfins

The rush of neurotransmitters and neuropeptides triggered specifically by watching the Seven Dwarfs march home singing "Heigh-Ho" — that particular high of pickaxes, whistling while you work, and communal domestic bliss in a cottage built for men half your height.
I only meant to watch the Heigh-Ho scene for the endwarfins, and then it was two hours later and I'd watched the whole movie.

Endwarfins aren't just a Snow White thing — I get the same hit off the Lollipop Guild in Oz.
