The Federal Republic of Germany (FRG), also known as 'West Germany', was a nation created in 1949 from the British, French and American zones of occupation in Germany. It was dissolved when Germany reunified in 1990.

The FRG was a hell of a lot better than the German Democratic Republic (GDR) in the East.
