Dorian Concept

The moniker of Oliver Thomas Johnson (born 16 September 1984 in Vienna, Austria). His music is super flowing and exquisite, with him fooling with tons of synths like the microKORG and the Roland SH 101. His genres are an eclectic mix of jazz, hip-hop, trip-hop, and ambient. His signature is to spawn random-ahh glitches and pitch bends for an intricate sound design, something that I really favour about Dorian Concept. His released three albums are: Joined Ends (2014); The Nature Of Imitation (2018); and What We Do For Others (2022). He released Joined Ends through the record label Ninja Tune, and his following albums through Brainfeeder. He is also known for creating that one dark fantasy music you find on TikTok, which is ‘Hide - CS01 Version’. The track involved video-game-sounding synths, and had a sense of eerie and liminality, which literally ended up on the ‘liminal’ space in Spotify. Overall, Dorian Concept is the G of music, and in my case, I inspire to make music like him (and other musicians I like as well). He clowns on his synthesisers, twist and turns the modulation-thingies, and basically makes the most immaculate sh(ee)t out their in the electronic music industry (in my opinion)
Setting 1:
Person 1: Do you know who made that dark fantasy song that is viral on TikTok?
Person 2: Yes! It's Dorian Concept?
Person 1: Ooh, never heard of that name before, but sounds like a cool ‘concept’ (ᗒᗜᗕ)՛̵̖
Person 2: Haha, pun-intended! Oh yeah, I listened to his other music as well. He really acknowledges his use of synthesisers and his delicate sound design!
Person 1: Cool! I kinda figured out that he is a full-time music artist, so I knew he didn't just upload Hide - CS01 Version

Setting 2:
Person 1: Have you listened to Dorian Concept's latest release ‘Trilingual Dance Sexperience’?
Person 2: Not yet, but I do remember Dorian Concept from his ‘Fooling around on Micro Korg’ video. That was really kool, hehe.
Person 1: His latest release is punishingly and shamelessly good! It's like the music is punching walls rn.
Person 2: Ah, I'll try to listen to it, thanks!
Person 1: No problem ^u^

You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)

church hurt

church hurt is where you experience a degree of distance, pain, or judgement from your church community. Essentially, you are just unable to “find your place”. This is prevalent in the Christian community, but can be extended to other religions.
Now that I am an adult I am beginning to heal from the church hurt that was inflicted on me as a child.
