A young hairy guy with a little belly who really is not big framed enough to be called a cub, so the name cublet came about.

Tom is a cublet, someday he will grow up to be a cub but never will be big enough to be a bear!

chubilete

(n.) One who was formerly athletic and has gained some weight. The individual can still perform adequately, but not like in the old days. This describes an individual who is not in his or her prime, but not yet washed up.

Back in high school, he used to dunk the basketball with ease, but since becoming a chubilete, he can only dunk on a good day.
