Croydon

What a wonderful place. Why?

- It's an easy commute to London by train - Victoria in under 20 min, London Bridge in under 15 min. Plenty of other London stations especially in the City, and in double-quick time. Better than the tube.

- Beautiful houses with gardens are in plentiful supply and are cheaper than anywhere else in London. Fact.

- Westfield thinks it's so fab that they are spending millions upon millions of cash to update the town centre. Westfield know their shizzle.

Most people who do not know the delights of Croydon speak ill of it. This is because they have heard other people slag it off and they think they must repeat what they hear. That's fine. We don't want their kind in Croytopia. Don't tell them how brilliant it is or they'll all want to move there.

Lovely, visually stunning town with beautiful buildings ranging from Victorian grandeur to 21st century ubercool slick. Croydon is a cultured town, strong on the arts with a museum, theatres, art house cinema and art gallery.

Croydon is under 15 minutes from Central London by fast train.

A "gang" of douche bag kids in the small town of croydon pa who pretty much just ride on bikes in the middle of a main road and do some dumb ass bike tricks and act like they're tough even though they're weak privileged assholes who should really get a life but that's none of my business.

AWESOME TOWN, 15 MINUTES FROM CENTRAL LONDON, WHICH IS EVERY INCH A GREAT CITY IN ITS OWN RIGHT. CROYDON HAS A GREAT ART SCENE WITH GREAT PLACES LIKE THE FAIRFIELD HALLS, WHERE THE BEATLES ONCE PLAYED; AND THE CROYDON CLOCK TOWER CENTRE, WHICH FAMOUSLY HOSTED AN EXHIBITION OF PICASSO PAINTINGS.

IN ADDITION, CROYDON'S ALREADY EXCELLENT SHOPPING FACILITIES ARE ABOUT TO GET A WHOLE LOT BETTER STILL WITH A £1 BILLION WESTFIELD CENTRE.

Croydon is a town, but will soon be reclassified as a City - if there is any justice!!

Crony Capitalism 

n. Crony capitalism is a colloquial term describing a "market economy" in which success in business depends on close relationships between business people and government officials. It may be exhibited by favoritism to connected businesses in the distribution of legal permits, government grants, special tax breaks, and so forth. This favoritism is rewarded by campaign contributions or outright kickbacks to politicians or their supporters. As such, it creates an oxymoron of sorts, in that success of a business in a free market (capitalism) does not depend on free-market forces. It is also a obvious source of corruption of both business and government.

In the United States, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are examples of Crony Capitalism. Government backing let Fannie and Freddie dominate mortgage underwriting. The politicians created the mortgage giants, which then returned some of the profits to the politicians - sometimes directly, as campaign funds; sometimes as "contributions" to favored constituents.

Coxygen

1) After a sporting activity to remove one's cup form its jock-strap and place it over another teammates face like an oxygen mask forcing them to breathe in your ball sweat. Often used as a concequence for a bad job during play of the sport, or done to the team bitch for laughs

Eric sucked it up during the game, so when we got into the lockerroom I was obligated to give him a massive coxygen.
