Several dyed pieces of hair (usually found on the heads of scene girls) That are striped horizontally with a different color of hair, made to look like the tail of a raccoon. They are often worn as extensions (bought from hot topic) rather than actual hair.
Scene Girl 1: Hey, did you see Carol Chaos's new green and black coontails? aren't they rad?

coon tails

A hair extension or dyed piece of hair, usually about 5cm wide with horizontal stripes in 2 different colours going down it. Looks a bit like a racoons tail, hence the name.

Scene kids often get them with brown & bleached stripes down the lengths of their scene hair.
"Those fuzzy hats with the coonskin tail look just like Meagle Murder Massacre Brutal Fgt Chaos Brutal's new coon tails!"

Coattails

It's like when someone imitates someone else or does something cool after someone else already made it cool, basically saying someone is "riding the coat tails" of the person before them.
I did that already, gj coattails. Fucko.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
