The yellow/red graphic "cone" on a weather map when a hurricane is far, far away that includes hundreds and hundreds of miles of coastline and causes TV meteorologists to go nuts and needlessly alarm the general population.
Area residents from Miami to Brownsville should begin to take precautions as we don't know where this potentially strong storm might, or might not, make landfall. The areas in red or yellow are all within the cone of hyperbole.
