Noun.
1) Strict
definition: An irrational
bias towards members of a certain orthodontic background. The bias can be positive (e.g. a braces wearer can prefer the company of its own kind, it's "Brace", or even another) or it can be negative (e.g. a person with orthodontic appliances can
hate or resent others without). To qualify as Bracism, the bias must be irrational. That is, it cannot have a factual basis for preference.
2) Commonly intended definition(in America): A bias or intolerance that some
people have towards those with orthodontic appliances.
3) Politically motivated definition: A justifiable reason to redistribute resources or opportunities between groups on the basis of braces alone.
1) Toby: "you wouldn't understand! I've had to eat wax! Just so I
don't
cut myself! (gestures to other "Brace" wearers) My people know what I'm talking about, why
don't you go back to your own kind? That'
s Bracism bro"
2) Guy 1: "I wouldn't date her. Black and Decker Pecker Wrecker bro."
Guy 2: "You Bracist bastard"
3) Ray: "Shit, four peeps, only
3 pieces of gum. Nevermind, Toby, you have braces. You probably
don't even like gum, right?"
Guy
3 and Guy 4: "Yeah, screw him, give it here!"
Toby: "Whatever, I'm out of here. Your all a bunch of Bracist bigots. Every hear of a little thing called The Progressive Orthodontist Magazine?"
