A basketball league that existed from 1967 through 1976 until eventually merging with the National Basketball Association or NBA. The American Basketball Association is where the three point shot and slam dunk contest began. Dr. J, Moses Malone, Artis Gilmore, Dan Issel and other great players played in the ABA for teams such as the Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs, New York Nets, Kentucky Colonels, Virginia Squires, Utah Stars, Spirits of St. Louis, San Diego Conquistadors, Oakland Oaks and others. The afro hairstyle was very common in the ABA. The ABA used a red, white and blue ball. Teams from the ABA and NBA played several games against each other and the ABA teams usually won those games. The ABA ceased to exist when it merged with the NBA in 1976.

The American Basketball Association was cooler, and featured better basketball, than the NBA and even college basketball.

The american chinegres baseball league was founded in 1932 by Bing Bong Pong Abdul Jabar. The league was a professional baseball league for Chinese-African American players. This league was used to get Chinese-African Americans in to pro leagues during racist Jim Crow laws. The league was later disbanded in 1936 due to lack of enough Chinese-African Americans. During these times Chinese and Africans weren't allowed to legally be married until 1948.

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.

Boffin

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.

According to the boffins downstairs, the murderer used a serrated blade.

Pee Calculus

When you have to pee in a movie but don’t want to miss anything, and must do the following mental equation: will the amount I have to pee cause enough discomfort to diminish my attention capacity for the remainder of the movie to an extent which is greater than the amount of the movie I would miss by making a mad dash to the restroom.

I saw Satantango last night, wonderful film but by the 5th hour I had to start doing pee calculus.
