brightside

Someone who pretends to be happy when they're not, referring to the confused bisexual narrator of The Killers' album Hot Fuss.
But it's just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes
'Cause I'm Mr Brightside

Mr.Brightside

1) To always look for the positive in life.
2) To want somebody so bad that it drills your mind night and day. The desire can be much more intense when you realize that the two of you could never work due to distance, people, place, etc. Inspired by The Killers song.
1)Even after I crashed my car into the exit ramp, and my insurance turned down my claim, the fact that nobody got hurt made me feel like Mr.Brightside.

2)When I heard about her Friday night hookup, my inner Mr.Brightside realized there was nothing I could do from across the country.

mr brightside

Mr Brightside or a Brightside is someone who is jealous of another person who is with the person they want. This is taken from The Killers' song Mr Brightside.
"And I'm falling asleep, and shes calling a cab, while he's having a smoke, and she's takin' a drag, now they're goin' to bed, and my stomach is sick, and its all in my head but she's touching his ... chest now, he takes off her dress, now LET ME GO"

"Jealousy, turning saints into the sea, swimming through sick lullabies, choking on your alibi, but its just the price I pay, destiny is calling me, open up my eager eyes, cause I'm Mr Brightside"

A lighthearted reaction upon receiving disappointing news of some sort. Usually something that isn't a particularly a big deal, esp. when it primarily affects someone else - sort of a mild schadenfreude. Sometimes doubled or tripled, and possibly said in a sing-songy voice for added comedic effect to imitate a muted trumpet, which is how the meme originated.

Surf Dracula Syndrome

A phenomenon in film/television series, most notably streaming series, where the main premise is drawn out to such a point that it takes an entire season or more to get the parts of the series the audience is actually interested in seeing.

For example, if a series is titled "Surf Dracula," a majority of viewers would tune in expecting to see Dracula surfing by the first or second episode. However, the entire first season would instead be tedious padding and backstory before finally ending with Dracula surfing in the last five minutes of the season finale.
I watched "Smallville" on Netflix the other day. Dude, it was ten seasons of filler before he finally flew! Major Surf Dracula Syndrome!
