andre agassi

Andre Agassi is a former professional tennis player and World No. 1 from the United States. He won eight Grand Slam singles titles and is one of only five players to have won all four Grand Slam singles events during his career. Agassi is the only player in the open era to have won every Grand Slam singles title, the Masters, the Davis Cup, and an Olympic gold medal.

On June 24, 2006, Agassi announced he would retire from tennis after the 2006 U.S. Open, bringing an end to his 20 year professional tennis career. On Sunday, September 3, 2006, he played his final match, losing to Benjamin Becker in four sets in the third round of the US Open.
