abstraction

Polite way of say "bullshit" in academia.
That paper is all abstraction: the author didn't say anything at all.

Abstraction

It's math. Abstraction and math are the same thing.
Hym "Math is the architecture of abstraction in written form. Math is derived from abstraction. I do a lot of abstraction and... I don't need to know the math if the person reading already does" 😉

Abstraction

The form of giving up , which means to be forgotten about and feel forgotten about
The feeling of abstraction creeps up to her as no one ever talks to her

Abstraction Of Light

Something that will lead you to darkness.

It may cause the world to end.
And make the only thing you can think of is you.
You'll try as you might
it won't take you down its
your final showdown.
As I stare, into an Abstraction Of Light that will lead me to darkness, oh.

Peterson Level of Abstraction

A level of specificity too specific to be of concern to a layperson, but that is often discussed at great length by those concerned with minute details of the subject matter.
A: "But if the transmutation statute requiring written evidence kicks in after 1985, you can rebut the 1984 Anti-Lucas joint tenancy presumption written requirement with an oral or implied transmutation agreement from 1984 through 1985. And conversely, the oral or written rebuttal before the 1987 Anti-Lucas Joint Title Presumption can overcome the transmutation requirement from 1985 through 1987, right guys?"

B: "I guess... but do we really need to know all that? That sounds like a Peterson Level of Abstraction you're getting to there."

zero cost abstraction

A buzzword usually uttered by someone trying to sell you the idea that you should rewrite your project in Rust. It supposedly means "free" abstractions that don't come with overheads and penalties, but in reality they're anything but free.
If you hear someone use the term zero cost abstraction unironically, run as fast as you possibly can because you're cornered by a snake oil salesman.

Manifest Abstraction

"Dude, what you're saying is a manifest abstraction, You are never going to get that girl. She's much too hot to exist in your world."

city chicken

A food native to Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania in which cubes of pork and/or veal are put on a short, wooden skewer, breaded, then baked and/or fried.

I've heard that city chicken originated during the Great Depression, when folks didn't have enough money to buy full cuts of meat, so they assembled meat scraps on a wooden skewer, creating a make-shift drumstick. Hence the name.

endwarfins

The rush of neurotransmitters and neuropeptides triggered specifically by watching the Seven Dwarfs march home singing "Heigh-Ho" — that particular high of pickaxes, whistling while you work, and communal domestic bliss in a cottage built for men half your height.
I only meant to watch the Heigh-Ho scene for the endwarfins, and then it was two hours later and I'd watched the whole movie.

Endwarfins aren't just a Snow White thing — I get the same hit off the Lollipop Guild in Oz.
