intellectual property cloaking

Term used to describe when individuals in technology make information or processes vague or ambiguos for the sake of trying to appear knowledgeable.
Paul never explains how he got the answer because he thinks he will retain job security through intellectual property cloaking. Cool people explain how they figured things out.

Cloaking 

The act of establishing communication with another individual via the internet, dating, app, or other online service, and arranging a date at an agreed upon destination just to have one party not show leaving the other in confusion after they try to re-establish communication and find out the person has erased all record of conversation and online existence leaving the cloaked victim in disappointment and disgust.
Johnny was chatting intensely with Angela on Tinder, and arranged a date at the local pub, but Johnny to stand up and avoid Angela altogether. Angela showed up on time, but Johnny was nowhere to be found. Johnny cowardly deleted his Tinder profile and avoided public places for 2 weeks in case he ran into Angela. Johnny was too immature and was cloaking her.
