A musical group that is formed through a reality TV show, typically one that’s also revolved around music. The group is destined to disband at some point throughout their run, whether through contract or through problems within the group. The term usually refers to the four groups formed from M-Net’s South Korean survival show Produce 101, IOI, Wanna One, Iz*One, and X1. However, can also refer to any other group that shares a similar fate.
Fifth Harmony was formed through The X Factor and eventually disbanded, which could technically put them as a Produce group.
