Protest the Hero

Protest the Hero, sometimes known as PTH, or simply Protest, is a thrash metal/metalcore/post-hardcore/punk (NOT EMO) band from Whitby, Ontario. Their members are Rody Walker (vocals), Arif Mirabdolbaghi (bass, vocals), Luke Hoskin (lead guitar, vocals), Tim Millar (rhythm guitar, vocals) and Moe Carlson (drums). They are a very talented band, and should not be criticized even if people don't like them, they deserve respect. I've heard them being compared to DragonForce, which is ridiculous. DragonForce's guitarists can't even play their own songs live, while Protest the Hero's can, not to mention the band having great stage presence. You don't have to like PTH, but they deserve some respect.

Me: Dude, Protest the Hero is one of the best bands ever!

Musically Retarded Person: Hell no! DragonForce is better!

Me: Right. DragonForce can't even play their own songs live. Protest the Hero is better than that shit.

The pretentious E is often added to the end of words in place names to give a false sense of charm and history to an otherwise soulless, corporate-built craphole of a neighborhood, apartment complex, or shopping center.

Kingstowne, a large suburban development in Alexandria, Virginia, has a pretentious e at the end.

professional protester

Any unemployed, fanatically Liberal protester, who spends an inordinate amount of time protesting the Republican wing. Often protests so frequently, they lose track of what they are actually protesting. Usually falls within the age range of 18-35. Descriptions include bad dye jobs, nasty facial piercings, and copious amounts of tacky tattoos. While adopting a "hippy-ish" style dresscode, and associated hygiene practices.

Pretentious

Aren't we all pretentious? Don't we all have some picture in our minds of ourselves that we aspire towards? Is that such a bad thing? We're all pretending, all the time. Idiots toss this word around not knowing what they really mean by it in my experience...they would probably say this definition is pretentious.

person A "we go to such an such cafe for coffee"

person B "really? I hate it there, everyone is so pretentious"

person A "really? Even the middle aged people and young mothers with children? What are they pretending to be? Are they pretending to drink coffee? Is it pretend coffee in an empty cup? How could a business run on that principal?"
