flea's runway

A "flea's runway" refers to a hair parting, particularly one that runs central to the head. The fashion for greasy slicked down hair with a central parting has diminished and the term is not heard as much now as thirty years ago.

Linda was disappointed because George had not been to the hairdresser she had suggested. He still sported the long sideburns, greased down hair and flea's runway that she had complained of.

Flea-Market Find

A guy or girl that used to be a potential love interest but now has become an unnecessary, dramatic, and/or useless part of a person's life. It is in reference to an item that a person would typically find at a flea-market. Something that is cheap, ridiculous, and a person just cant seem to pawn it off on someone else.

Samantha: "Did you know that Jenn broke up with Ryan?"
Karen: "Yes, but I heard that he continues to call her!"
Samantha: "Ha ha. I dont know where she picked up that flea-market find."

Flea Friend

A friend who used to swear they're your bestie then one day ditches you at the drop of a hat to hang out with a completely new group who ironically become the entire world to them.

They will then act like you're an annoyance when you want to see them, but if they run into you, act like you're their long lost love and swear how you need to do more together. It never happens.

Girl 1: I just don't understand, last week she wanted to see me every day and now she's posting 500 pictures of herself and those other girls and won't talk to me

Girl 2: Forget her; she's a flea friend - bouncing from body to body.

Flea Flicker

A trip taken by one or more co-workers during the work week, which has no legitimate work or family purpose, and is achieved through misdirection to fool work colleagues into believing it is a legitimate family trip and to fool spouse/family into believing it is a legitimate business trip. When executed properly, this seldom used, high-risk tactic, can result in significant time away from both work and family but often results in awkward silences with or nonsensical explanations to co-workers and apologies to spouses and/or family members. The “flea flicker” is considered an extreme variant of the “stretch.”

Worker 1: Have you seen co-worker X, Y or Z this week?

Worker 2: No, I thought they were in New York for meetings.

Worker 1: There are no meetings in New York this week, they must be running the flea flicker again and I can’t wait to hear the explanations for their simultaneous disappearances.
