A catch all excuse for plagerism by public figures, politicians and occasionally ,students.

1. Governor Palin's office explains the use of unattributed material from a four year old Newt Gingrich article that she used in a recent speech as "poor staff work".

2. Professor Smith: Mr Jones, I have read your speech that you "wrote" for your semester project . I must say , it bears an uncanny resemblance to the Gettysburg Address, the reference to "your friend Abe" not withstanding. Your explanation?

Mr . Jones: Oh...sorry dude , poor staff work.

Flipper-Quality Work

(Adjective) - Refers to any type of shoddy, low-quality, quick & cheap "cover-up" work done by someone who "flips" houses for a living.

Cheap-ass "work" that is done to cover up defects in a house just long enough to fool the next buyer or home inspector. When finally discovered, correction of the problem usually involves more work than would have been necessary to do it right the first time.

Phrases typically utterred during the actual performance of this work include "Good enough for now!", "It'll work!" or "Fuck it, I'm not going to be living here!"

Examples: Covering up mildew infested, rotted bathroom walls with paneling; using duct tape to fix a leak in a pipe then covering it with pipe insulation; painting around/over a switch/outlet cover or light fixture.
