2. the practice of substituting gadgetry and use thereof for evidence as grounds for social status.

3. general geek/nerd stigma.

Girl: "Look at Richy Rich, iPhone and a Kindle. Don't they cost like $500?"

gratuitous profanity

Profanity for the sake of profanity, in a forced attempt to make a movie, videogame or song sound cooler. It is uneeded.

Eminem does not execute gratuitous profanity, but it does seem as though he was trying too hard to sound cool on his first two albums. Now he's established a reputation, he's making really shitty music without as much swearing, so he can show that without all the badmouthing, he really does sux0r my bizalls.

racial profiling

The act of taking an unreasonably-high number of "turn to the side, please" mug-shots of Blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, Jews, etc., due to one's prejudice against said minorities.

While racial profiling is indeed wrong and humiliating, taking excessive numbers of head-on photos of non-Caucasians is disgraceful and demeaning, also.

driver's profiling

Turning your head while passing a car to check out the other car's driver who was doing something stupid on the road just a minute ago. It could also be used to confirm car/owner stereotypes.

I could hear the big pink Cadillac with shiny rims from miles away. No need for driver's profiling. It was a black dude.

The minivan in front of me almost stopped in the left lane of the highway this morning. I did some driver's profiling and sure enough it was a soccer mom on her phone.

The silver Toyota in front of me was behaving weird. Some driver's profiling revealed it was an old asian lady who drove it.

Profanitype

To use symbols to denote socially unacceptable words in typed text. Ambersands, hashes, asterisks, tildes, question marks, dollar signs, slashes, carets, percent symbols, and exclamation points are all used in place of profane words to make profanitype. In the phrase, "Are you #$&@#*$#&ing kidding me," "#$&@#*$#&" is profanitype.

The act of using symbols in place of profanity is profanityping. The resulting text is profanitype (noun).

This sentences contains no profanity, but lots of profanitype: "What a *(#$&(#*# (*#$(*#&&$^@% $##$#$!!! I want to kick his #*$&#*$ing sorry #*$&#$&*!!!"

My stupid phone autocorrects all the bad words to profanitype.

Sometimes when I profanitype, it thinks the ampersand is an email address. I hate that.
