Dark Friend

In practical everyday uses, a Dark Friend is someone who appears to like you and have your best interest at hand, but, in reality, subtly enjoys befriending you and watching your down fall.

Dark Friends enjoy turning good, honest and loyal people into bad and watching their suffering and deterioration that comes in result of this. They can slowly do this through the use of drugs, music, sex, materialistic culture or subtle suggestions that slowly make the person discontent and open to negative activity.

On the outside, Dark Friends can be attractive, clever and funny, but their motives are always vile and self-centered. They hold Love in great contempt and try to destroy and dissolve it in any way possible.

The term “Dark Friend” originated in the fictional world of Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time fantasy series. “Dark friends are followers of the Dark One. Dark friend in the Old Tongue is Atha'an Shadar, which translated more directly to "People of the Dark.”

wanting to be somebodies friend very badly. signs and symptoms include: getting nervous when you see them, wanting to spend lots of platonic time together, getting jealous when they are good friends with somebody else, stalking them on social media, if you have their number you probably make excuses to text it and fantasizing about scenarios where they become your best friend.

i have an immense friend crush on Leo and Charlie. i almost had a heart attack when i found out i have been transferred to Leo's gym class, and die a little whenever charlie posts on snapchat. i could probably talk to either of them, they know who i am, but id probably make a fool of myself while theyre infront of their real friends.

Origin: Bill W. the founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, in social settings this phrase was used to explain why one did not drink alcohol without explicitly stating one's membership in this group which values its anonymity.

Someone you know who isn't really your friend, but who you say hello to when you see them pass by. This term usually defines someone who you don't really know that well or who you don't really hang out with, but is someone who you would greet in passing.

Person 1: "Kelly Smith. Do you know her?"
Person 2: "Sorta. She was more of a hallway hello friend"

Introducing one friend to another, only find out that the two friends enjoy eachothers company more so than that of the original Introducer. Thus leaving the original friend of both, friendless.
