Mailbox Fishing

Going around a neighborhood and stealing mail from mailboxes to sell someone's information online or to find credit cards, checks, gift cards, greeting cards with money, etc.

Mailbox Fishing is a federal offense that is punishable by imprisonment.

Someone was mailbox fishing in my neighborhood because I'm missing very important mail that I should have received last month.

candy kid fishing

Going to a rave for the sole purpose of fishing for candy kids.
One must use a fishing pole with a glow stick for a lure.
Once the candy kid spots the glowstick, tug it a little so he/she will instinctively chase.
Then reel it all the way back in.
If their feelings get hurt, give them the glowstick and their faith in humanity will be restored.

"Hey Pete, what did you guys do last night?"

"We went candy kid fishing. It was my first time out, and I caught a Hello Kitty!"

Compliment fishing

When someone essentially insults themself in order to get sympathy from other people. A flirting tactic used by many girls.

Guy: Hi, what's wrong?
Girl: *sigh* I look awful today!
Guy: No you don't! You look absolutely wonderful!
Girl: No, I don't. Stop being nice.
Guy: I'm serious, you do! You're the most beautiful girl in the world, you couldn't look better!
Girl: I guess... but I'm stupid.
Guy: No you're not! You're 50 million times smarter than me!

... and this compliment fishing goes on. Don't fall for it, guys. It usually leads you to a girl who will dump you unless you compliment their every move and become their slave.

Facebook Fishing

When someone post a status on Facebook that is very open ended or mysterious in the hopes of getting people to comment on their post. It is often used to gain sympathy from the posters friends.

Facebook status: "Kim is wondering if it's even worth it anymore."

Comment 1: "Hang in there things will get better I promise."
Comment 2: "It's always worth it."

Observer 1: Thats totally bait for Facebook Fishing.
Observer 2: Yeah she does that all the time to get attention.

road fishing

When lacking a decent place to enjoy alcoholic beverages free from interference, road fishing is a final option. This act consists of driving around the countryside with a cooler full of beverages, allowing all passengers to 'fish' out and enjoy drinks hidden from public view. Road Fishing is only recommended in rural settings.

"Dave's parents shut down tonight's plan for a party, so we're just going to go road fishing until something new comes up."

prison fishing

A common sport among prisoners when an inmate unwraps a Jolly Rancher and places it between his/her butt cheeks. Later that day, they remove the Jolly Rancher, re-wrap it, and set it on an empty table. They then move a few paces away and wait for an unsuspecting "fish" to "take the bait" and eat the butt-Rancher.

We were prison fishing for hours last week. The only downside is that my bum is still sticky.
