The town's elementary school is known to many as "The Academy" due to the fact that although it is a public school, it may as well be a private one. It also houses the Waverly Community House, aka "The Comm" where local kids go to play basketball, use he playground, or tennis courts. Across the street is the Waverly Deli, known as the center of Waverly, where residents old and young gather. Most kids in this area go to Scranton Prep, or to Abington Heights. The latter being a superior education, and much more snob free at that.
