Sleep Mode

When you have nothing really important to do, so you temporarily shut down your brain and daydream, a bit like a computer.

Brian: What's wrong?
Zach: Ugh, Will was totally in sleep mode during my presentation. IT WAS IMPORTANT!
Brian: LOL.
Zach: Shut up, you dick.

Sleep stupid

Incoherent utterings after being awakened from a nap or sound sleep. The inability to process lucid thought due to sleepiness or altered states of consciousness.

I'll tell you how the movie ends tomorrow, you're so sleep stupid right now the ending won't make any sense.

To sleep a certain time period away in order to skip it completely...as you are asleep.

sleep wall

Sleep wall • noun • that feeling you get when you feel like you're going to fall asleep but then it passes and you're fine. Often afflicts those with PopTart deficiencies. Those who do not suffer from sleep walls are known to be excellent spellers. Causes include watching too much Dexter and Breaking Bad. Tennis players are at high risk.

"Dude, you hit a sleep wall. You should eat some PopTarts and stop watching so much Dexter..."

Sleep tax

The catch up sleep your body forces (sleeping through alarms, etc) for staying up too late for multiple days in a row.

Man I slept for 12 hours and missed my appointment, I knew I shouldn't have stayed up playing games three nights in a row. Sleep tax is a bitch.

Sleep Notes

1. When, in class you are taking notes, but becoming increasingly tired. You end up falling asleep several times, but are still trying to take notes. Next thing you know, class is over and what you look down at are your sleep notes. They start with the correct information, and steadily become more illegible and harder to understand. They will often incorporate small dreams you had, or you will accidentally write what people near you are saying, instead of what the teacher is saying. They may include doodles and scribbles that even you cannot decipher.

Teacher: Alright everyone, have a good weekend!

John: Oh man, class is over?

Steve: Yeah, you slept through the entire thing.

John: Oh man, check out these sleep notes! I started with a timeline about the colonization of America that turned into a scene out of Family Guy, and then I see what looks like a smiley face, with lines trailing off of it.
