Perhaps the most pathetic behavior of the modern male (esp. teenage) geek, this term refers to the tendency of male geeks to become irrationally infatuated with nearly any girl who is willing to speak to them, eben if such occurances are not really all that rare.

He thought that she was his soul-mate, but it was really just a geek crush.

ghetto geek

1. Slang for old school, or out dated.
2. Making do with older technology.
3. A geek who untilizes technology in ways which it wasn't intended. (furnature, doorstops, car parts out of computers, etc.)

1. "Dude, omg, your coffee table is made out of old computers, that is so ghetto geek."
2. "WTF is this a 486?" "Yeah man, it's my good laptop". "Man your hardcore ghetto geek".
3. A geek programing an application/game etc. only able to run on the most modern hardware, on a pre P2 computer.

crypto-geek

One who hides "nerdy" interests while maintaing an outwardly "normal" appearance, esp. someone who one would not expect to pursue such interests, such as a jock. A crypto-geek would usually be embarassed if these interests were revealed to his or her main circle of associates.

I didn't realize John was a crypto-geek; who would have thought the captain of the football team plays Dungeons and Dragons?

girl-band geek

Someone obsessed with female-fronted rock bands, usually male.

Often abbreviated to "GBG," a girl-band geek is someone who prefers bands led by women over bands led by men, often to the point of critically accepting or rejecting bands solely based on the gender of their members, rather than on their talents or productions.

Terry's such a GBG that the only time he listened to Black Flag is when Kira Rosselaer played with them...

dork,geek,nerd

A geek is someone who is always heavily into things like rpg, classic sci fi, and loves to argue about it with others or chime in any time they hear someone mention a geek Passion of theirs,whether appropriate to do so or not.

A dork tends to be a person who doesn't really look the part "aka wearing shirts like I'm not a geek, I'm a level 80 warrior" but they often have a love for gaming, in particular video games and team challenge with personal betterment online games. They may dabble in card and board games, again maintaining the temporary nature of an interaction (aka not lengthy involved games such as dnd) They don't usually run around talking to everyone about what they like but will engage if the other says something first.

Now either one can have a little of the other in them or even a little nerd. A nerd is just someone who knows an intense amount on a specific subject, tending to be but NOT limited to electronics and or computer hardware or software
