Schmeagle

To put an unhealthy or unusual amount of mental capacity or effort into one small facet of life or any given situation. Schmeagling is most accurately described as when someone is so caught in their own way of thinking about a particular thing, that they shut out all outside opinions on the matter and firmly believe in their own delusions.

Sam has recently become obsessed with getting in shape and hitting the gym. He has bought 50 different supplements to take throughout the day to aid him. He is also going to the gym for 6-8 hours a day. Sam is schmeagling on the gym.

The homeless man walked around aimlessly on the boardwalk muttering incoherent phrases to himself and never paying any mind to others. The homeless man is a schmeagle.

An excellent and classic example of schmeagling is Gollum and the ring of power from the legendary series Lord of the Rings. Gollum schmeagles on the ring for 500 years. In my opinion this is the BEST example of what schmeagling is.
